There is no doubt that the year 2020 will going to set a mark in 5G market as the companies are coming with more 5G enabled chipset in the market. But at the start of the year, Qualcomm released a few new chipsets including Snapdragon 720G, which are basically focused on 4G markets. Yeah! these are the mid-range SoCs and also for those regions where 5G is still not debuted. Snapdragon 720G is the basically designed for gaming in mid-range smartphones, which has almost similar specs just like the Snapdragon 730G. The Snapdragon 720G brings connectivity features like Wi-F 6 and NavIC (Navigation with Indian Constellation) which is a new GPS technology developed by ISRO (Indian Space Research Organization). All the SoCs in the list including Snapdragon 720G, 730G, 765G and MediaTek Helio G90T are the gaming-centric CPUs. CPU Performance
Talking about the CPU performance of SoCs, the Snapdragon 720G is an octa-core CPU in which all 8 cores are divided into two clusters. The CPU is relatively new and the design of Snapdragon 720G is based on Kryo 465. The snapdragon 720G has two high performance cores of Cortex A76 and clocked at 2.3GHz and six power efficient cores based on Cortex A55 and clocked at 1.8GHz.
In Snapdragon 730G, it also has the dual cluster design similar to snapdragon 720G. The CPU has two high performance Cortex-A76 cores clocked at 2.2GHz and six power efficient Cortex-A55 cores clockedd 1.8GHz. Here, the Snapdragon 720G has 5% higher CPU clock speed than the Snapdragon 730G. However, the SD 730G uses Kryo 470 CPU design, which is slightly better than the Kryo 465 in SD 720G.
The Snapdragon 765G has different cluster design than the other SoCs in the list. The SD 765G is an octa-core CPU, and all eight cores are divided into three clusters. The CPU has one high performance Cortex A76 core clocked at 2.4GHz, one medium performance Cortex A76 core clocked at 2.2GHz and four power efficient Cortex A55 cores clocked at 1.8GHz.
Now come to the MediaTek Helio G90T. The Helio G90T is an octa-core CPU in all 8 cores are divided into two clusters. Yeah, off course, similar to SD 720G and SD 730G. The Helio G90T has two high performance Cortex-A76 cores clocked at 2.05GHz and six power-efficient Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 2.0GHz.
Comparing the CPU specs of all these SoCs, the Snapdragon 765G top the list. Both SD 720G and SD 730G have almost similar features. But here SD 720G is relatively new and come second in the list with 5% higher CPU clock speed than SD 730G. So, Snapdragon comes third in the list. MediaTek Helio G90T also has very good CPU features, but slightly lower clock speed of high performance core make it to come in last position.
Manufacturing Process
The Snapdragon 765G works on 7nm fabrication process while the Snapdragon 720G and 730G both uses 8nm manufacturing process. MediaTek Helio G90T is less power efficient in comparison to the other three with 12nm manufacturing process.

GPU Performance
All these SoCs are specially designed for the gaming. The Snapdragon 765G uses the latest Adreno 620 GPU Snapdragon 720G and 730G uses Adreno 618 whereas the MediaTek Helio G90T has Mali-G76 3EEMC4 GPU. Qualcomm claims that Adreno 620 GPU is 20% more powerful than the Adreno 618. The Mali-G76 3EEMC4 GPU is more powerful than the Adreno 618, which is used in SD 720G and SD 730G. MediaTek uses HyperEngine technology to improve the overall gaming experience. So here, the Adreno 620 comes first in the list because Adreno processors gives more lag-free experience than Mali graphics processors. However, there is no gameplay issue in all these SoCs. All are capable to handle any game with ease.

Camera
When it comes to maximum camera support, all three Qualcomm processors have similar camera support features. All Qualcomm chipset in the list support up to 192MP single camera. The number 192 can be achieved only by tweaking some camera features, otherwise, it is actually restricted to just 36MP. All three Qualcomm processor can support dual 22MP + 22MP lenses at 30FPS on both sides of the phone. These can also support a 48MP single camera on both sides of the phone. As all the processors have similar camera features, we have to look its ISP to choose which one is better. The Snapdragon 765G uses the Spectra 355 ISP while the other two Qualcomm processors: the Snapdragon 720G and 730G Spectra 350 ISP. Here the Spectra 355 ISP is an upgraded version to the Spectra 350 ISP, hence, the Spectra 355 is definitely better than the Spectra 350.
Now coming to the MediaTek Helio G90T which can support up to 64MP single camera at 22.5fps. The SoC can support up to dual 24MP + 16MP lenses at 30fps on both sides of the phone. So overall, if we conclude, the MediaTek Helio G90T has a higher megapixel camera support in comparison to the other three Qualcomm processors. It comes 3x ISP features to improve the camera quality while the Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G, 730G, and 765G has 2x ISP. Hence, MediaTek Helio G90T has the better camera features than the other Qualcomm SoCs in the list.
RAM and Storage
In terms of maximum RAM support, both Snapdragon 720G and 730G support up to 8GB LPDDR4X RAM. The Helio G90T can support upto 10GB of RAM. With 12GB of maximum RAM support, here Snapdragon 765G top the list. All these SoCs offer UFS 2.1 flash storage or standard eMMC 5.1.

Display Features
Maximum display resolution support for Snapdragon 720G, 730G and 765G are same which can offer upto 3360×1440 pixels QHD+ resolution. But the Snapdragon 765G slightly better, which can offer higher refresh rate to the display. The Snapdragon 765G can support an upto QHD+ resolution display at a 60 Hz refresh rate and an 2560 x 1080 pixels FHD+ resolution display at 120 Hz refresh rate. The 720G and 730G can also support for QHD+ resolution but there is nothing mention anything like refresh rate. It can support upto 60 Hz refresh rate display only.
Now if talk about MediaTek G90T, In comparison to Qualcomm SoCs in the list it has poor display support. The MediaTek Helio G90T can only support a display with a maximum resolution of 2520x1080p Full HD+. So, when comes to the maximum display supports, Qualcomm processors surely ahead in the list.
Connectivity
The Snapdragon 765G offers way better connectivity features than other SoCs. The SD 765G has integrated 5G X52 Modem which can offer upto 3.7Gbps download speed and upto 1.6Gbps upload speed on a 5G network. It offers upto 1.2Gbps download speed and upto 216Mbps when the device is on 4G LTE network. The Snapdragon 765G is the only SoC in the list which comes 5G connectivity feature.
The other two Qualcomm processors: Snapdragon 720G and 730G both have an integrated X15 LTE modem which offers up to 800Mpbs download and 150Mbps upload speed.
Lastly, the MediaTek Helio G90T which offers poor connectivity feature in compare to the Qualcomm processors. The Helio G90T comes with an integrated 4G LTE modem which offer up to 600Mpbs download and 150Mps upload speed.
Hence, the Snapdragon 765G is the winner in connectivity department. The other two Qualcomm processor come second while the Helio G90T comes last in the list.
Artificial Intelligence
In the AI department, both Snapdragon 720G and Snapdragon 765G has 5th Gen Qualcomm AI engine. The Snapdragon 720G uses Hexagon 692 DSP and the Snapdragon 765G uses Hexagon 696 DSP. The Snapdragon 730G uses Qualcomm Hexagon 688 DSP, which is an 4th Gen AI engine. Here, MediaTek didn’t reveal which AI engine they are using in Helio G90T. However, it is for sure that it can not compete with the Snapdragon 720G and 765G AI department. So, here Qualcomm is best AI features than MediaTek.
Geekbench Benchmark Scores
At the time we do not have information about the GeekBench score of Snapdragon 720G, so we are including it here. However, we would include it later when it is available. Talking about the Snapdragon 765G that scores 2,881 points in multi-core and 7,696 points in multi-core. The Snapdragon 730G scores 2,538 points in single-core and 6,927 points in multi-core. Now the last, MediaTek Helio G90T, which has scored 2,468 points in single-core and 7514 points in multi-core.
To recall the point if you don’t know the higher GeekBench score the more powerfull CPU will be. So here, Snapdragon 765 is most powerful chipset that has higher GeekBench among all. In terms of single-core result, SD 730G has slightly better scores than Helio 90T, but in Multi-core results Helio 90T is far ahead from SD 730G.
AnTuTu Benchmark Scores
The Snapdragon 720G is relatively new and we don’t have the information about the AnTuTu scores of the SoC at the time. Looking at the other processors in the list, the Snapdragon 730G scores approx. 260,000 AnTuTu points, the Snapdragon 765G got 300,000 points and the MediaTek Helio G90T scores approx 280,000 AnTuTu points. So here the winner is Snapdragon 765G in AnTuTu benchmark scores. The MediaTek Helio G90T and the Snapdragon 730G comes second and third, respectively. We will update AnTuTu Benchmark score of Snapdragon 720G when it is available.

Conclusion: Which one is better?
Concluding all performance results, features and specs, we can say that Snapdragon 765G is best SoCs among Snapdragon 720G, 730G and Helio G90T. The Snadragon 765G comes with an integrated 5G modem which other SoCs don’t offer. This is also a fact that 2020 will be the year for 5G technology as more companies are coming with 5G enabled smartphones and it will be definitely will be at the peak by the end of next year 2021.
But if we keep SD 765G aside and look at its price Snapdragon 720G, 730G and Helio G90T then the point of view will slightly change. The price of Snapdragon 720G, 730G and Helio G90T are low and at this price all three done a very good job. So if you are habitual to buy a new smartphone in every 3-6 months or even 8 months, then you can go for these SoCs. But if you are a person who use a smartphone for longer periods of time than you should consider Snapdragon 765G with 5G connectivity.
