Finally, the Redmi Note 8 series has been launched. There are already a number of leaks and teaser surfaced online and now finally Xiaomi on Thursday unveiled the new lineup at an event in Beijing. Before the launch, The Chinese company said that the Redmi Note 8 series already has over 2 million bookings in advanced.
However, Redmi Note 8 series includes two smartphones right now which includes Redmi Note 8 and Redmi Note 8 Pro. But, it is expected that this might be expanded with a couple of more phone as its previous successor Redmi Note 7 series includes Redmi Note 7S. Along with the launch of Redmi Note 8 series, Xiaomi also introduces its first Redmi-branded TV and a new notebook the “RedmiBook 14” as well.
Redmi Note 8 Specification:
The phone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 SoC which is based on the 11 nm process. The SoC has eight Kryo 260 cores. Four of them clocked at 2.2 GHz and the remaining four is clocked at 1.8 GHz.
The display of the Redmi Note 8 is a 6.3″ Full HD+ LCD screen with a resolution of 2340 x 1080. This phone is not featured with In-Display fingerprint sensor as there is no OLED screen. Hence, the fingerprint sensor is fitted at the back of the phone.
The screen ratio increased from 86% to 90% as compared to its previous successor “Redmi Note 7”. The device is provided with a fifth-generation dual 2.5D Corning’s gorilla protection. This will make the device highly resistant to physical damage. The device is also splash-proof and other light fluid actions. The Redmi Note 8 will be available in three colors: ochre black, white moon, dream blue.
The phone comes with a quad-rear camera design. The primary shooter of the device is Samsung’s ISOCELL GM2 module of 48MP camera. Other cameras of the phone include an 8MP super wide-angle lens, 2MP depth sensor, and 2MP super macro sensors. At the front, this smartphone has a 13MP shooter for selfies which supports AI beauty.
The smartphone has a 4000 mAh battery which supports 18W fast charging capacity and the charger is also provided in the box. Other feature of Redmi Note 8 includes a 3.5mm headphone jack, USB Type-C, and an earpiece in the box.
Redmi Note 8 Pro Specification:
The Redmi Note 8 Pro is the first to use Mediatek’s Helio G90T SoC and will be available in 6/8 GB RAM and 64/128 GB storage variant. It is housing with a large 4,500 mAh which also support 18W fast charging feature.
This device has a slightly larger screen of 6.53″ Full HD+ resolution LCD panel with small bezels.
Redmi Note 8 Pro is the first smartphone with a 64 MP camera. The camera module includes Samsung’s ISOCELL Bright GW1 sensor works on quad-binning pixel technology.
It also has a quad-camera design. It has a four-camera vertical set up in the middle of the panel. The phone has a 64 MP primary sensor which is joined by same 8 MP ultra-wide + 2 MP depth + 2 MP macro sensor just like the Redmi Note 8.
