Overwatch 2 comes packed with a ton of new and familiar heroes for players to choose from, each with their own skills and abilities that make them stand out from the rest. And while every character is unique and useful in its own way, there are some that are better than others in what they do.

And now, with season 3 well underway, I think it’s a great time to talk about what characters should you be picking. Whether you are just getting started with a brand new Overwatch 2 account or playing the game since the day one, this list will help you out massively.

How Overwatch 2 Tier List Works?

Overwatch 2 features a variety of different characters divided into different classes including Damage, Tank, and Support. Each of these characters has their own unique skills and abilities that make them useful in battles. Some of the characters have abilities that work regardless of the map you choose to play on, while others perform better in certain conditions.

Based on these skills and abilities, these characters complement different playstyles. It’s important to choose the right character based on your playstyle to get the most out of your character. Keeping that in, mind we have created a tier list divided into 4 classes starting from S to C. with S being the best and C being the worst class.

S-Tier Characters

We will start off with the best of the best characters in the S-Tier. This Tier includes characters that are pretty well-equipped to face the heat of the battle in the best way possible. They are very reliable, with very few shortcomings which gives you a better chance to outwit your opponents in battle. Here is the full S-Tier list of characters:

A-Tier Characters

Next up, we have the A-Tier, which includes characters that are awesome but not for every map. These characters do have some shortcomings but nothing that a good player can’t handle. And if the situation is right, they can even outperform some of the S-Tier characters. Here is the full list of A-Tier characters:

B-Tier Characters

Moving on, we have the B-Tier. This includes characters with more significant weaknesses. Not all of these characters are worse but they are not as good as the ones we just talked about in the above tier. Here is the full list of character in B-Tier:

C-Tier Characters

Last but not least, we have C-Tier. This includes characters that are generally not preferred by anyone due to their severe lack of use in most maps and abilities compared to other characters in the game. There are not many but still worth mentioning, just in case:

NameClassDifficulty
SombraDamageAverage
GenjiDamagePro

Which Character Should you Pick?

Picking the right character can be a little daunting for Overwatch 2 players that are looking to boost their rank, there are many things to keep in mind. One of the most important factors here is to understand the game mode you’re playing. Each mode requires different strategies and hero choices. For example, Payload often requires heroes who can defend or push the payload, while Control requires heroes who can control the point.

Secondly, you need to know your team composition. A balanced team with heroes who can heal, deal damage, and protect is ideal. If your team already has a lot of damage dealers, consider picking a healer or a tank. So, it all just comes down to personal preference and it doesn’t matter where the character resides on this list, if you are having fun Main-ing the character, you should play with it.
